POLITICA AMBIENTALE
Recognizing the environment as a critical and strategic factor in the execution and development of its business activities, BETAMED has adopted an Environmental Policy. This policy is designed to identify the environmental aspects of its operations and to seize opportunities for improvement that may arise in the coming years.
The company's focus is therefore not only on meeting customer demands and legal and regulatory requirements, but also on addressing environmental protection needs with a constructive attitude towards environmental issues.
To this end, Management is committed to:
- Managing and monitoring all company activities—including the design, control, and marketing of medical devices—in compliance with laws (Environmental Consolidated Act 156-2006; European Directive 93/42 CEE and subsequent amendments) and voluntary standards adopted (UNI EN ISO 9001:2015, UNI EN ISO 14001:2015, UNI EN ISO 13485:2021).
- Preventing pollution through the management, planning, and implementation of any modifications or new activities, while giving due consideration to their interactions with various environmental sectors and the local context.
- Optimizing and efficiently rationalizing the use of natural resources (energy, water) and materials through periodic consumption monitoring.
- Ensuring continuous improvement of environmental performance by properly defining measurement methods (KPIs) with systematic evaluation.
- Monitoring the work of third-party suppliers in the production of devices and their compliance with environmental regulations through second-party audits.
- Disseminating its environmental policy to its contractors and suppliers and including environmental aspects among its supplier evaluation criteria.
- Communicating with customers, suppliers, contractors, and institutions to improve the sharing of environmental management.
- Training and raising awareness among all personnel about reducing the environmental impact of company activities, promoting a widespread sense of responsibility at every level regarding the importance and consequences of potential environmental damage. This also takes into account ongoing climate change and the current transition toward a "Green" economy.
The suitability of the quality policy is reassessed by Management during reviews and the redefinition of company strategies.
